Snowmobiling in Temagami

Snowmobiling down one of our many trailsAhhh....winter’s most popular motorized sport! For three months, phone lines are constantly ringing with inquiries about trail conditions, availability of accommodations and other relevant information. The Trans-Canada “A” trail crosses the province and passes directly through downtown Temagami. Both gas stations, all the restaurants and several lodges eagerly anticipate good ice for safe lake crossings and plenty of deep powder for smooth trails that are professionally groomed on a regular basis. Annual and/or weekly OFSC trail permits are mandatory and can be purchased locally. All-you-caneat meal plans, hot tubs & saunas, satellite TV, wireless internet, complimentary trail maps and plenty of free trailer parking are included with most accommodation packages at various lodges along the trail.

Snowmobiling is a family activity

Temagami’s rugged terrain offers some of the steepest hills found anywhere in Ontario. “Catching some air” isn’t hard to do here. Giant old growth pines, pristine lakes and seemingly endless beaver meadows can be found along the well-marked trail system that offers some of the most awesome photo opportunities anywhere. As you cruise along the impeccably groomed trails, moose or lynx tracks will keep your eyes peeled for sightings of these elusive animals. Trails are usually signed and open from early January through late March every year.
